Plot rundown
The destruction of the ship is reported to General Kyle by Captain Carter - commander of Pluto Alpha Base. He orders an immediate retaliation but the fighters sent from Pluto are completely destroyed... Kyle decides the time has come to launch the secret "X" project - he contacts Dr. Benn, commander of Moon Base who objects, saying that the ship is only 90% ready. He relents, but tells the General to send three of his most promising pilots to fly the new ship... |

Space Cadets Shiro Hagan, Barry Hercules and John Lee are despatched from Training School. On the way to Moon Base they discuss what they think the "X" project could be. Shiro's father apparently designed it, but Shiro knows nothing about - his father has been working at the Institute of Mars for years, and he hasn't seen him in a long time. The three pilots meet Dr. Benn and are introduced to PPA ("Perfectly Programmed Android"), the beautiful Lamia and Kirara (her mysterious alien guard). |
Meanwhile, despite Captain Carter's best efforts, Pluto Alpha Base falls to the enemy...
Back on Moon Base, the "X" project is finally revealed - a gigantic ship called "X-Bomber". While the three pilots are marvelling at it, Dr. Benn is informed of the events at Pluto base. General Kyle orders him to launch X-Bomber immediately as the enemy are now heading for Earth. When the pilots show reluctance to launch - considering they haven't even had a single simulated flight yet - Dr. Benn admonishes them and goes to launch the ship alone. Shiro quickly decides that they'll go as well - to fight for the memory of Captain Carter who was their instructor at Training School... |

X-Bomber is successfully launched and engages the enemy fighters. The battle goes well, but the ship is overwhelmed when the larger alien ships join the fight. A fault develops with the engines and the ship crashes on the moon...
