Plot rundown

General Kyle orders a search of the computer banks for any information regarding F-Zero-One. Back aboard X-Bomber, Dr. Benn thanks Lamia for her help but tells her she must leave the ship and return to Moon Base. She protests, but he tells her he is not prepared to risk her life when the fighting starts again - she refuses and goes to help the others repair the ship... |
With 30 minutes left, Shiro, Hercules and Lee discuss what they think F-Zero-One could be... Hercules wonders if it could be a secret weapon, while Shiro speculates it could be a person with special powers. Lamia joins the discussion but leaves when she hears Shiros' wild theory - that F-Zero-One could be an alien among them... She goes to Dr. Benn and says she believes that F-Zero-One is her - she can feel a 'calling' and asks him to tell her of her upbringing as she knows so little about herself. Unaware that Shiro is eavesdropping outside the door, he tells the story of her discovery as told by Professor Hagan... |

"Soon after he started his work at the Institute of Mars, a brilliant object fell amid a meteor shower onto the desert - it was a spaceship. Professor Hagan went out to investigate it alone - all the others were too frightened. Inside the alien craft was a capsule, and there within the capsule, a baby lay sleeping peacefully. Beside the capsule lay Kirara - a creature guarding the baby." |
"When Professor Hagan approached the capsule it slowly opened of its own accord. The baby woke up and smiled into his eyes, as if it could communicate even at that tender age. That baby was you. Professor Hagan took you back to the Institute, within he gave you the name "Lamia". You were brought up in secret with Kirara as your nursemaid - no one else knew. The Professor loved you like his own child - he was like a real father to you." |

That is all Dr. Benn knows about her - Professor Hagan disappeared some time ago and has not been heard of since... While Lamia comes to terms with the fact she's an alien, Kirara discovers Shiro listening outside. He apologises and is ordered not to tell anyone what he has overheard... |
Back on Earth the computer delivers the result of the search on "F-Zero-One" - nothing. General Kyle orders his missile base to stand-by then informs Makara. She still refuses to believe him, but after a plea from Kyle's Number Two she allows them 10 more minutes to search the computer banks again. Kyle contacts Dr. Benn for help, but X-Bomber still cannot take off - he suggests they attack from the moon using 'X-Impulse' but the Earth will suffer serious damage in the process unless they can lure the alien ship away... |

Star Fleet prepares to launch missiles against the ship, but they are detected and destroyed before they get off the ground. With just 5 minutes left an evacuation is ordered - X-Bomber is now their only hope... |
On X-Bomber as the ship prepares to launch, Lamia wonders where Professor Hagan is now, and decides that if she is what the Alliance wants, she cannot further endanger the people of the Earth... Dr. Benn explains to the crew that once they launch, 'X-Impulse' will be their last resort - but to use it will consume 90% of the ships power so if they miss - the Earth will suffer tremendous damage and the ship will be crippled... |

They contact General Kyle one last time but their communication is suddenly interrupted as Lamia redirects their signal at Makara's ship and repeatedly announces that SHE is the F-Zero-One. Shiro stops her but it's too late - Makara immediately heads for the moon despite Orion's objections that it's a trick. A tense few minutes ensues as the alien ship gets closer... |
Dr. Benn decides to use the element of surprise and pretend the ship is still crippled until the last possible minute... Lamia tries to leave the ship and hand herself over but Shiro stops her. X-Bomber launches successfully and fires X-Impulse - the Alliance ship is badly damaged and forced to retreat, but Commander Makara vows to return... |

Epilogue
"Earth has survived the initial Imperial assault, but Commander Makara has threatened to return. The mystery of the identity of F-Zero-One has still not been solved. Can Star Fleet command resist a second attack..?"
